Taking your first steps
At the end of this chapter, you should be able to demonstrate proficiency in scanning technique and scanner operation. This chapter is made up of four steps.

Step 1 — Online training: scanner operation
All staff/doctors who will scan, please watch:
Staff/doctors completing restorative scans, please ALSO watch:
Step 2 — Practice scanning
All staff/doctors who will scan:
- Complete at least 5 practice scans
Step 3 — Coaching for scan technique
Everyone will now please complete:
- GP Basics VCT with a Clinical Trainer
Staff/doctors scanning for resto, please have a patient in the chair while you complete:
- Restorative VCT with a Clinical Trainer
Step 4 – iTero software training
Complete three live, online training sessions to learn the iTero Software:
- Invisalign Outcome Simulator
- Invisalign Progress Assessment
- iTero Viewer, Occlusogram, TimeLapse
Post-VCT training
